New Features

IG-2521 Exclude Data Refinement translations from widgets displaying historical data

Release notes

The Exclude translations option for Data Refinement Groups has been extended to additional widgets displaying historical data.

When configuring a widget, individual Data Refinement translations can now be excluded from the displayed data. This makes it possible to leave out states that are not relevant to a particular visualization, for example No data, specific operating states, or other translated values, without changing the underlying Data Refinement Group.

This functionality was already available for the Pie Chart and Event View and is now available consistently across the other applicable widgets displaying historical data.

IG-2557 CSV Import and export default values for Data Refinement fields

Release notes

Data Refinement Group CSV files now include columns for Default text, Default color and Default icon. These values are included when exporting a Data Refinement Group and applied when importing the CSV file.

This makes it possible to configure default translation values for many fields and alarms at once without editing each field individually in DCC.

IG-2587 Enterprise companies are now highlighted in the company tree

Release notes

Companies with an Enterprise license can now be identified directly in the company tree, making it easier for Inuatek administrators and distributors to get a quick overview of their customer structure.

Company icons now use the following colors:

Black – Standard company
Blue – Distributor
Green – Enterprise company

This provides a simple visual indication of company type without having to open the individual company settings.

IG-2592 Improved handling of IXON device identifiers

Release notes

Copying an IXON device’s MAC address from the IXON Portal could include invisible leading spaces or line breaks. If these were pasted into the MQTT configuration, remote access to the device could fail.

DCC now removes unwanted leading whitespace when MQTT devices are created and before sending IXON remote access requests, ensuring that copied identifiers are handled correctly.

IG-2596 Expanded icon library for Data Refinement states

Release notes

We have expanded the icon library available when configuring Data Refinement states with 54 additional icons.

The broader selection makes it easier to visually represent different machine states, operating modes, warnings and other equipment conditions in dashboards.

The new icons are currently available for Data Refinement icons only and have not been added to the general symbol selection used by widgets such as the Value widget.

IG-2616 Easier access to the DCC mobile app

Release notes

When DCC is accessed from a supported mobile browser, a new banner recommends using the DCC mobile app and provides a direct link to open or download it. The banner can be dismissed if the user prefers to continue in the browser.

DCC links on mobile devices will now also open in the app by default when it is installed, providing a smoother transition from emails, alerts and other applications.

IG-2618 Gauge widgets can now appear side by side on mobile

Release notes

Gauge widgets are now included in the compact mobile layout previously available for other single-value widgets. Two consecutive gauge widgets can therefore be displayed side by side, making better use of the available screen space.

Note that widgets are arranged in pairs. If there is an odd number, for example, three gauges, the first two appear side by side, while the final gauge uses the full width of the mobile view.

IG-2622 Added support for Teracom TCW242 devices

Release notes

DCC now includes dedicated support for the Teracom TCW242, which can be selected directly as an IoT device type and configured to publish data to DCC using MQTT over TLS with client certificates.

Because the TCW242 does not include timestamps in its MQTT payload, DCC automatically uses the cloud timestamp when data is received.
The integration also handles the TCW242 payload structure automatically. If a sample contains a value field (v), that value is used. If no v field is present, DCC uses the state field (s) instead.

More information about the integration is already available on Teracom on DCC at https://www.inuatek.com/teracom-on-dcc

A detailed setup guide will be available at: https://documentation.inuatek.com/docs/mqtt/teracom-tcw242
The link will become active when DCC 7.3 is released.

IG-2633 Daily data safeguard for excessive device data bursts

Release notes

We have introduced a safeguard to prevent an individual device from sending unusually large amounts of data within a short period and potentially affecting the stability of the DCC service for other devices and customers.

A device's licensed data allowance is calculated from its hourly sample point limit. For example, a device licensed for 1,000 sample points per hour has a licensed allowance of 24,000 sample points per day.

Exceeding this allowance is outside the normal license terms. However, we recognize that temporary exceedances can occur for legitimate reasons, particularly when a store-and-forward capable device reconnects after an outage and uploads buffered data. DCC therefore allows considerable temporary headroom before applying the safeguard.

Currently, if a device sends more than five times its licensed daily allowance within a single day, DCC will stop accepting further data from that device until the daily counter resets at midnight. For a 1,000 sample point/hour license, this currently corresponds to 120,000 sample points in one day.

The 5× threshold is a service-protection threshold rather than an additional licensed allowance and may be adjusted in the future.

Once the safeguard is activated:

Further data from the device is discarded for the remainder of the day.
This applies to both persistent data and sample points configured as Stream Only.
From the device's perspective, transmission may still appear successful even though DCC is no longer storing the data.
Normal data reception resumes automatically when the daily counter resets.

We have also made visibility when the safeguard is activated. For MQTT devices, the event can be seen in Live View from IoT Status. For Secomea SiteManager devices, it is shown in Event History on IoT Status.

Devices covered by DCC Extended are not subject to this daily safeguard. This makes DCC Extended particularly relevant for store-and-forward applications where devices may remain offline for longer periods and subsequently need to upload larger amounts of buffered data without risking data being discarded.

Bug Fixes

IG-2600 Correct sorting by latest edit in Quick Alerts and Group Bundles

Release notes

Sorting the Quick Alerts and Group Bundles lists by the Last edited column now correctly orders the entries by date and time. Previously, selecting this column could produce an incorrect order that appeared alphabetical, causing recently updated entries to be placed among older ones. The column now sorts chronologically as expected.

IG-2611 Corrected user and company attribution in Audit Log

Release notes

We have fixed an issue where the Performed By user and Company shown for an Audit Log entry could occasionally be associated incorrectly.

Audit Log entries now correctly match the user who performed the action with the relevant company context.

IG-2612 Corrected annual data consumption for Enterprise customers

Release notes

We have fixed an issue in the Consumption Report where Total Data this Annual Period could incorrectly be shown as 0 for Enterprise customers, even though data had been received during the period.

The issue was caused by an incorrect calculation of the Enterprise license period start date.

The report now correctly identifies the applicable annual period and displays the corresponding total data consumption.

IG-2613 Edited alerts can now trigger immediately

Release notes

We have corrected an issue where an alert that had recently triggered could remain subject to the existing exponential backoff period even after the alert was edited.

This could make it appear that changes to recipients or other alert settings were not working, as a new email or SMS could be delayed for up to 30 minutes.

Editing an alert now resets the backoff state, allowing the alert to trigger again immediately when its conditions are met. The existing exponential backoff functionality remains unchanged for alerts that have not been edited.

For more information about alert triggering and the backoff mechanism, see https://documentation.inuatek.com/docs/how-to-alerts

IG-2621 MQTT certificate changes are now applied without temporary certificate errors

Release notes

We have fixed an issue where an MQTT device could temporarily report a certificate error after new certificates had been generated or uploaded.

The MQTT broker could continue using the previous certificate information until its internal device configuration was refreshed. As a result, a device using the newly issued certificate could initially be rejected even though the certificate configuration in DCC was correct.

Certificate changes are now communicated to the MQTT service immediately, allowing the updated certificate information to take effect without waiting for the normal refresh.

IG-2630 Corrected SiteManager configuration parameter in device creation help

Release notes

We have corrected a typo in the setup instructions shown when creating a Secomea SiteManager device.

The required DCM parameter is now correctly shown as:

dcmcn=DCCsim

Previously, the dialogue displayed an incorrect value, which could cause the SiteManager DCM connection to DCC to fail when the parameter was copied directly from the instructions.

This is a documentation/help-text correction only; no changes have been made to the SiteManager integration itself.

IG-2636 Status Bar now shows the current state with OnlySaveOnChange

Release notes

We have fixed an issue where the Status Bar Widget did not always extend the latest known machine state to the current time when the underlying sample point used OnlySaveOnChange.

The widget now continues to display the most recently received state until either a new state is received or the device is detected as offline.

This allows OnlySaveOnChange to be used without requiring repeated samples to be stored simply to keep the Status Bar visualization current.
